FYI, this story is more than a year old

HealthPost.co.nz has been named one of the ‘Most Trustworthy' websites in New Zealand by the international Online Trust Alliance (OTA).

OTA is a non-profit organisation based in the United States which recognises online trust and user empowerment globally. The ANZ Online Trust Audit and Honour Roll was announced following a year long audit of consumer and government websites.

In New Zealand, only NZ Post, TradeMe and Xero have received this award.

Abel Butler, HealthPost, CEO, says, “To be included in the ‘ANZ Online Trust Audit and Honour Roll' for online privacy and data protection practises - in the company of just three other New Zealand organisations, and ones of such high calibre - really is an honour."

There are three categories in which the websites are scored: domain, brand and consumer protection; data protection, privacy and transparency; and site, server and infrastructure security. According to the audit, the HealthPost website excelled in these areas.

Craig Spiezle, OTA, executive director, founder and president, says, “The Online Trust Audit shows HealthPost has a high regard for its customers' data and privacy by implementing the most up-to-date internet security protocols and practices."

"This should give their customers confidence that they are shopping at an online retailer that respects them and is earnest about protecting their personal data,” says Spiezle.

Butler says HealthPost is committed to the highest ethical practices in all parts of business. "Having our customers trust us is as crucial to HealthPost as great products, customer service and ethics,” he says.

“We believe that people have a right to expect that the organisations who they share their personal information with online will take that responsibility seriously,” he says.

HealthPost worked with Lero9 in Auckland to develop the site, and Robert Popvic, Lero9, CTO, says the team at Lero9 performs on-going checks and enhancements to ensure the integrity of the HealthPost brand is upheld.

Butler says HealthPost is looking into implementing more online privacy and data protection best practices identified by OTA.
