Air New Zealand launches mobile booking service
Wed, 7th Aug 2013
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Air New Zealand customers can now book domestic tickets on the fly, straight from their smartphone’s web browser or via the airline’s mobile travel app - mPass.

Proving popular since its launch in 2009, the mPass app acts as an electronic boarding pass, allowing customers to receive up to date flight information in real time.

Other benefits include managing existing bookings, checking Airpoints Dollars account balance and looking up airport maps and travel information.

Air New Zealand GM of Customer Experience Calum Laming says the airline is continually looking at ways to enhance the customer experience from booking through to arrival.

“The new mobile booking system has been developed in-house and will enable our customers to book their domestic flights quickly and easily from their mobile phone," he says.

“Based on initial feedback we certainly expect the system to be popular among customers and plan to expand mobile technology later in the year, including introducing mobile booking for international flights."

Laming says the application is free of charge and available to download onto iPhone or Android phones via the relevant app store by searching for ‘mPass’.
