Hamilton's Ultrafast Fibre takes out Deloitte Fast 50 award

Ultrafast Fibre has been recognised at the Deloitte Fast 50 last week, with an award the company says is an enormous privilege. 

The Hamilton-based fibre company took out the Deloitte Fast 50 Regional Award for Fastest Growing Technology Business in the Central North Island. 

The company was also confirmed as listed in the Deloitte Fast 50 Index.

“This award is even more motivation for us to grow stronger,” says Ultrafast Fibre CEO, William Hamilton.

“Ultrafast Fibre is a young, local business on a mission,” he says. “We are close to completing the build of our fibre network across the Central North Island, which is tracking ahead of schedule.” 

The Company began construction of its 3,000km UFB network in 2011. Upon completion it will pass a total of around 163,000 premises in eight urban centres across the central North Island, representing approximately 13% of the national UFB network.

Hamilton says there is increasingly high demand for ultra-fast broadband from consumers across the residential, business, health and education sectors.

“In August last year, Ultrafast Fibre took in 800 orders. In August this year, we took in 4,800 – a six-fold increase,” he explains.

“We are now focusing even more on our customers, to enhance their experience as they connect and innovate by leveraging all the benefits that ultra-fast broadband brings.”

At the Deloitte event, Hamilton thanked the selection panel on behalf of Ultrafast Fibre and its pioneering shareholders, Crown Fibre Holdings and WEL Networks.

“We have a focussed team of people who will make this region proud,” he says.

Ultrafast Fibre will now go forward to the National Awards, to be held in Auckland on 4 November.
