A showcase of events promoting the New Zealand IT industry is due to begin in just over three weeks, as international visitors arrive for the Rugby World Cup.

Canterbury Software Summit & UCONZ trade show – Addington Raceway, Christchurch, September 8

Christchurch will host the first event, a one-day conference co-hosted by Canterbury Software Cluster and University Commercialisation Offices of New Zealand (UCONZ). Speakers will include Craig Nevill-Manning from Google, Andrew Lark from Commonwealth Bank, and Scott Bradley from Voucher Mob.

SKA Research & Industry Forums – Te Papa, Wellington, September 22 & 23

From Christchurch the showcase moves to Wellington, with a two-day event looking at the Australia-New Zealand Square Kilometre Array telescope project. Science and industry participants are invited to discuss what could be one of the biggest technological projects of the Century.

Digital Content Forum – Te Papa, Wellington, September 23

Also in the capital, this event will showcase a lineup of New Zealand digital innovators including Weta Digital. With guest speakers including Lionsgate Studios’ Curt Marvis and YouTube’s Annie Baxter, this event is sure to entertain and inspire.

NZ Technology Trade & Investment Forum – Langham Hotel, Auckland, September 26 & 27

Another two-day event, this time looking at key investment opportunities in the technology sector. Speakers will include Microsoft’s Paul Muckleston and Telecom’s Paul Reynolds. Day 2 of the event will also include a networking function specifically for entrepreneurs and innovators in the South Pacific.

Future Cities Forum – Langham Hotel, Auckland, September 28

A day of discussion about transforming towns and cities into digital communities.

Innovation Showcase – Langham Hotel, Auckland, September 26-28

Concurrently with the events above, a showcase of exhibits from New Zealand’s leading technology companies. An opportunity for New Zealand technology innovators to target potential customers and investors.

Technology Jobs Fair – The Cloud, Auckland, October 11 to 13

As the Rugby World Cup enters its final days, IT companies will have the opportunity to woo international professionals with the wide career opportunities on offer in New Zealand, as well as the many benefits of living in Aotearoa. This event will also target domestic professionals and students.

Schools Robotics World Cup – The Cloud, Auckland, October 11 to 13

As an addition to the job fair, some of the world’s most promising technology talent will be on display at this event, as their robots compete in a variety of challenges.
