Vend lands further $2m in funding

27 May 2012

Web-based Point Of Sale (POS) company Vend has secured another NZ$2 million in capital funding from backers Point Nine Capital.

The Berlin-based investment group was also a principal contributor to the Auckland-based company’s first funding round, in August last year.

Vaughan Rowsell, founder and CEO of Vend, says demand for the company’s online POS system has been ‘amazing’ since it launched 18 months ago.

"Retailers around the world are falling in love with online POS,” Rowsell says.

"This additional round of funding allows us to scale our team to meet the demand, keep disrupting the space with new innovation and develop some exciting new global partnerships.”

Vend has produced some innovative marketing to accompany its innovative solutions, including this campaign to find the most satisfying way to destroy an outdated POS machine.
