Vodafone joins Neighbourly partner network

05 Feb 2016

Community website Neighbourly has welcomed Vodafone into its fold as the telco becomes the organisation’s seventh corporate partner.

Vodafone joins ANZ, BP, The Warehouse, AMI, Contact and Mike Pero in the Neighbourly network.

According to Neighbourly, the support provided by the partner network contributes to the day-to-day running and ongoing development of the Neighbourly platform, which now has over 235,000 active households.

“We live in an exciting digital world and our local communities are becoming more connected than ever before,” says Liz Wilson, Vodafone consumer brand and communications manager.

“The team at Vodafone have fantastic expertise in this space - at both a local and global level - and we are delighted to partner with Neighbourly to explore the potential of our online neighbourhood networks together,” she says.

“Through our sponsorship of the Neighbourly Business platform, we look forward to strengthening ties to local families, groups and businesses as they continue to harness the potential of today’s connected world.”

Neighbourly co-founder Casey Eden says Vodafone is a technology and telecommunications industry leader making them a first-rate partner.

“It really is a dream to be welcoming aboard a company as dynamic as Vodafone”, he says. “Vodafone is a true leader in digital innovation - from their world class network, to their outstanding business solutions that are transforming the way Kiwi businesses operate.

“We are impressed by their commitment to service at a truly local level through their retail outlets and teams of ‘Ninjas - Masters of Tech’,” Eden says.

“And while tech-wise they’re at the forefront, it’s Vodafone’s long-standing commitment to Kiwi communities that has us excited,” he continues.

“Vodafone backs a myriad programmes through the Vodafone Foundation, including the World of Difference programme which supports passionate professionals to work for a local youth charity for one year.

“They are also helping Kiwi technology start-ups take their ideas global through the recently launched accelerator programme - Vodafone xone. Another great example is the Vodafone Foundation Canterbury Fund – which was established to aid the long-term recovery of the Canterbury community after the earthquakes,” he says.

“In total, over the years Vodafone has invested more than $20m into our communities through its Foundation,” says Eden.

“We are confident the partnership with Neighbourly will allow Vodafone to further raise the profile of the great work they’re doing throughout New Zealand.”
