World leaders sign on for digital economy

New Zealand is among a host of countries across the world to have committed to work together to preserve an open internet, close digital divides, promote digital skills and generally do more to seize the potential of the digital economy.

The commitment comes in the form of a ministerial declaration from ministers and high-level representatives from 41 countries and the European Union coming together at the OECD’s 2016 Digital Economy Ministerial Meeting held in Mexico.

By signing the Cancún Ministerial Declaration on the Digital Economy, the countries involved have committed to:
